DOT & Non-DOT Physicals are $95
Federal law under the Department of Transportation requires that operators of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) receive regular physical examinations. DOT physicals are highly regulated and designed to detect physical, mental, and emotional issues that can affect a driver’s ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle. NEXCARE Wellness Clinic medical examiners are trained to understand regulations and are focused on preventing operators from being inappropriately disqualified.
Commercial Drive Requirements
All commercial drivers of vehicles in interstate commerce with a maximum gross vehicle weight rating of over 10,000 pounds (4,536 kilograms) are required to obtain and maintain a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (ME Certificate).
Driver Medical Certification
Drivers receive a medical certificate which is normally valid for 2 years. Your medical exam will be transmitted and stored electronically in the Commercial Driver’s License Information System.
Self-Certification
Drivers will be required to submit a “self-certification” to their state driver’s licensing agency (SDLA), to declare their intent to drive commercially in 1 of 4 possible categories.
Many Non-DOT companies require employees to complete physical examinations to determine work performance capabilities for their specific job duties.
Our pre-employment physical examination will assess your physical ability to perform required job duties.
Some employers may require a physical exam as a condition of employment after an offer is made. According to the American Disabilities Act, the physical exam must be related to the job the applicant will be performing, and should only be required after a position is offered.
For children heading back to school, a proper checkup is important to evaluate any issues your growing child may be dealing with. For example, a back to school physical can touch on whether a child’s vision is developing properly and address any other physical development issues that are important to a growing child.
A sports physical will assist in determining if students have any underlying health issues that may prevent them from participation. Our providers are also committed to identifying risk factors for specific sports to ensure the safety and health of your child.
